I took this picture last week and I’m imagining the hustle and bustle all over now that students are moving in. The Class of 2013 (Wow! I feel old.) is moving in this weekend and school will begin again next week. Campus won’t be this calm again for quite some time, but that’s really the way it should be.
It’s hard to believe that I graduated three years ago. School feels so distant now, even though USD is a piece of home stitched into my being. Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck this year Class of 2013… and best of luck in this new academic year to the rest of you!
I’m so glad I knew you, but wish I’d had the time to know you better. Watch over us. I know you will guard your little girls with angel’s wings. You are most certainly gone to soon and it devastates me that the last time I saw you was at Paul’s service less than six months ago. Tell him hi for us… and our other Buena Bulldogs too. I can’t believe that exactly a year after we said goodbye to JD, you went to join him. I’m so sorry I won’t be able to make the service on Saturday, but I’ll be there in thought, spirit, and prayer with the rest of my family. They really loved getting to see you so much this summer.

I walked along the beach tonight after Mass…
I introduced my still nameless new camera to my alma mater this evening. This is one of my better shots this evening.
This is not one of the better photos of the evening, but it is one of the most meaningful and still has a hint of “interesting.” I need to work on that LensBaby focus. Difficult that one… but I love learning more about my camera and having to manually shoot everything. I love how the star aperture came out in this one.

I’ve been remiss in blogging. In fact, I’ve been remiss in WRITING. I can’t remember the last time I strung more than a paragraph together.
I borrowed my roommate’s LensBaby today and the first thing it taught me was how much more I have to learn. I knew I still had SO much to learn, but it turns out that SO much is really SO SO MUCH. I had fun though and got a handful of decent photos from the hundreds I took.
This is probably the best one.
