Forever on Thanksgiving Day
The heart will find the pathway home.

A Happy Thanksgiving from Ventura, CA

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart

Remember Ian? My friend held an amazing fundraiser for him last March and there’s another one coming up in just a few weeks. San Diego locals, please do what you can to spread the word and support Ian! Also, if you click the picture/flyer below you can download/save a copy of the flyer to pass along. Thank you!

December 12th from 6pm-2am!

Beauty Everywhere

I was waiting at a red light on my return to work today after lunch and the sun was glaring in my eyes. I’d came home on my lunch (as per usual) and opened up my package from LensBaby. I had the 2.8 aperture in and the cross dangling from my rearview mirror wasn’t super still. But, I love this shot. I’m already in love with this lens and can’t wait to take more pictures. My Composer Baby will be an everywhere companion.

The Composer shipped today! I’m so excited and can’t wait for it to arrive. I think it’ll be a fun and wonderful challenge. I enjoyed my roommate’s 3G and while most of the photos had A LOT to be desired, it pushed me to really get to know my camera. It forced me to shoot ONLY in Manual and really utilize what I’ve learned over the years about photography/digital photography. This lens is part of theIR new generation of lenses and I couldn’t be more thrilled to learn more and get creative. I’m hoping that the push to conquer the lens in time for Christmas/NYE will also help my blogging. I’m going to try and post my picture progress. It should be here in time for Thanksgiving, but hopefully sooner since it shipped out today. Hooray!

In the mean time, I’ll continue to take pictures in RAW and practice, practice, practice, practice some more. Today, Verde was my subject. He’s on exhibit right now.

Verde: The Green Iguana

There are a couple other pictures on Flickr.

I spent some time on the beach this weekend, in prayer, with old and new friends. It was truly revealing.

We are gathered at table
as one in the Lord.
We are gathered as people
who are living the Word.
Our hearts and our spirits
are nurtured by grace.
It is Jesus who fills us.
He is here in this place.”

“Think of all the hands you have touched and how much they have left an imprint on you. Handprints are actually heartprints that can never be erased. The hand has its own memory. When you touch someone or are touched by someone, you exchange hearts with each other. Think of all the places that carry your handprints and all the people who bear your heartprint. They are permanent, and will last forever.”

We hope you like the flowers we chose Grandpa. Happy Veteran’s Day… and Happy Thanksgiving too!

I went with my grandma and aunt today to take flowers to my grandpa. My grandma hadn’t had the opportunity to come visit since last year. She knelt down and prayed with and for her husband of nearly 57 years. We also stopped by her mother & stepfather and aunt & uncle. It was a beautiful day in Point Loma.
