MyVideos

My friend is playing Peter Pan in the Arden Theatre Company’s production of Peter Pan through January 24th. If you’re in Philadelphia, you should go. It looks amazing! I wish I could go to Neverland.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

You can also click this picture to download it here. I highly recommend visiting CureSearch though for more information about Childhood Cancer. Every year, 12,500 children are diagnosed with cancer.

This month, I will recommit to the blogging journey that began last summer with Team In Training for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It is a cause near and dear to my heart. Come with me on the journey and spread the word. Together, let’s raise awareness. Let’s end Childhood Cancer.

President Obama was sworn in this morning. Videos of the coverage can be seen here, his speech can be read here, and all over the internet you could and can continue participate in the story and the history of this day.

More information on the pledge can be found at the Myspace page.

I pledge to be aware of those around me, to treat each person with dignity, to maintain hope, to uphold virtue, and to listen. I pledge to be active.

And you can vote however you’d like, just ask these kids that are all over YouTube:

While I certainly hope that my candidate wins, I don’t plan on campaigning here for that person. (In fact, I’d prefer a landslide so that I don’t have to go to bed unsure of the outcome. I know it’s unlikely given how the polls are constantly up and down and super close between McCain and Obama, but I can hope.) Honestly, I hope that most people know who they’ll be voting for in the next few hours already. I hope that people have educated themselves on the candidates, the issues, the propositions, and the measures because even though it’s a lot of work, it’s a privilege. We are blessed to be able to vote and it’s our duty to vote.

P.S. Take a coloring book, sudoku, crossword, etc… with you to the polls. There will be some long lines (hopefully).

It’s November 4th… just a few days away. Do you know what you’re voting for?

Me? I voted by absentee today.

I’ve been meaning to put up this song for awhile now…

The song is available exclusively on iTunes. More about the event and what Stand Up 2 Cancer is doing, visit http://www.standup2cancer.org/

The last day to register in California is October, 20, 2008.

It’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and I raced on Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, so I wanted to share some of the videos that I’ve discovered from some of the blogs that I read (many of which are linked there at the side).

Ellie Skees’ mom Sarah posted the following video here:

The little boy Max, at the end of the video, is from San Diego. His parents blog here. In the last nine months, both Ellie and Max passed away from neuroblastoma.

Courtney’s mom posted a number of childhood cancer facts and ways to help here. A couple of the items mentioned include:

On average,

1 in every 4 elementary schools has a student with cancer

Every high school in the United States has two students who are current or former cancer patients

She also recommends doing something… like eating at participating Chili’s on September 29th or donating to CureSearch. You can donate to CureSearch every time to search though by utilizing GoodSearch instead of Google and setting it up to donate a penny with every search.

Serenity’s parents posted Complete The Cure at their post here. By simply watching the videos, money will be donated to childhood cancer research.

A simple YouTube search will provide you with a myriad of videos… some by parents and loved ones and others by organizations.

In closing tonight, Sarah Beth by Rascal Flatts:

God bless you all… thank you and spread the word. I promise to race update soon, I’m still searching for the right words.

I’ll be at the airport, going through security, and preparing to fly up to Monterey for event weekend. WOW.

I seriously cannot believe that it is here already. Keep me and my team in yours prayers as we depart for our races (Pac Grove for me and many, Nations in D.C. for a few) as we’ll keep all of you, our supporters, in our thoughts and prayers. We’re being carried on angels’ wings (I know I am!) and we’re out there for the many who are still fighting that they may one day be out there… or wherever they want their lives to carry them.

8:45am on Saturday morning, I’ll be off… check back in for the race report on Sunday (or Monday). Saturday is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Day… be aware and spread the awareness.
