Hello all!
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve messaged all of you… and I apologize for the delay. As some of you may know, my grandfather recently passed away and I was out of town for a couple of weeks in June. While the reality is still hard sometimes, I’m doing much better and am comforted by the knowledge that he is at peace. I know that he’ll be flying with me on the triathlon course this coming September. While he did not have a blood cancer, he did have cancer and leukemia took the life of his sister seven years ago, my Auntie Barbara. I cannot wait to honor them this September.
I’ve just returned to San Diego and am busy training once more. The swim workout was fantastic last night and I can’t wait for Saturday! Since I’ve resumed training, I’ve also realized that I need to kick the fundraising into high gear. June was filled with exciting adventures like Torrey Pines and intense track workouts, so check the website for more detailed accounts of my June training.
As you might also know, I have currently raised just over 30% of my fundraising goal… but I still have a LONG way to go. I have committed to raising $4500 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by August 29th, 2008 and I still have to raise nearly $3000!
While brainstorming fundraising ideas (and any of yours are MORE than welcome), I realized that I already have a store setup online for photo sales. I’ve decided that the proceeds (roughly 37% of the purchase price) from my Imagekind Photo Gallery will go directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Please consider purchasing a photo or several (and if you know of a photo of mine NOT offered that you would like to purchase, please let me know) to benefit this great cause. I also ask that you would SPREAD THE WORD and THE LINK to my photo gallery. I would definitely appreciate it!
My gallery can be found at http://strong_enough.imagekind.com
There are also links available (as well as information) on my website at http://bleach226.wordpress.com where you can also find those detailed descriptions of my last month of training.
Thank you all for your continued support, I couldn’t do this without you! Happy 4th of July! Be safe!
